Mike Birbiglia has a new one. It’s called The New One. (He was also really funny in that one season of Orange Is the New Black. And in Billions. And Broad City.) Now he’s on Broadway telling a new story in a new way with the same heart and humor we’ve come to expect. Lin-Manuel Miranda called The New One “as perfect a night as you’re gonna get.” Do not miss The New One. Some people say it’s his best one. (It was John Mulaney. Also, Vogue.)

Lyceum Theatre, 149 West 45th Street (Between Broadway and 6th Avenue)
Running Time: 2 hours, including one intermission
Winner of the 2015 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy, The Play That Goes Wrong is a celebration of the best of live theater… and the worst. Welcome to opening night of the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor. This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a Broadway show – a ramshackle set, a leading lady with a concussion, and a corpse that can’t play dead. It’s a classic mystery… and it’s a mystery how it ever got to Broadway! Direct from a bafflingly successful run on London’s West End, this sidesplitting show-within-a-show will move you… from your house to the theater and back. Ben Brantley of The New York Times called it “A gut-busting hit!” and we only bribed him a little. If you thought One Man, Two Guvnors was the finest British comedy to ever cross the pond, The Play That Goes Wrong will prove you right. Running Time: 1 hour and 45 minutes, with no intermission
For seven years a certain boy wizard went to Wizard School. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs… who just happened to be there too. A play for anyone who has never been destined to save the world. “An alternative narrative for the underdog” (Wall Street Journal).
Puffs, or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic is a Potter inspired comedy for anyone who has ever felt like a secondary character in someone else’s story. The play that “never goes more than a minute without a laugh” (Nerdist) gives you a new look at a familiar adventure from the perspective of three new heroes just trying to make it through magic school. Alongside them are the Puffs, a group of well-meaning, loyal rejects with a thing for badgers “who are so lovable and relatable, you’ll leave the theater wishing they were in the stories all along” (Hollywood Life). Their “hilariously heartfelt!” (Metro) and epic journey takes the classic story to new places and reimagines what a boy wizard hero can be.

Academy Award® winner Kenneth Lonergan’s acclaimed memory play, and 2001 Pulitzer Prize Finalist, The Waverly Gallery, will have its Broadway premiere next season at the John Golden Theatre.
Directed by Drama Desk and Obie Award winner Lila Neugebauer (in her Broadway debut), the cast will include Grammy Award winner, and Academy and Golden Globe Award nominee, Elaine May, one half of the legendary comedy duo, Nichols and May, whose iconic show An Evening With Mike Nichols and Elaine May famously played the John Golden Theatre; Academy Award nominee Lucas Hedges; Tony Award® winner Joan Allen; and, in his third Lonergan play, Michael Cera.
